Schools from across the region will be heading to Inverell next week to take part in the 2025 Sapphire City Science and Engineering Challenge at the RSM Club.

The competition will engage with students from Inverell, MacIntyre, Ashford, Glen Innes and Tenterfield High schools, Holy Trinity as well as Inverell Public and uses their knowledge and experience to overcome various scientific challenges.

This year’s challenges include building a wind turbine, a coding exercise, a flight challenge as well as designing and constructing a bridge.

Debbie Curkpatrick from Inverell Rotary Club says the event opens the doors to many career pathways for students.

The 2025 Sapphire City Science and Engineering Challenge will be held at the RSM Club next Friday 7th March.
