The Grand Champion of the Inverell Art Prize 2024 has been awarded to an artist from Narrabeen following the official opening ceremony of the exhibition at the Inverell Art Gallery on Saturday evening.
Laurie McKern claimed the coveted $3500 prize for the work Irish Crockery stating she was still shaking with excitement with the artwork also named as one of the Inverell Art Society Acquisition Prizes.
The Special Feature 3D was awarded to Warialda’s Kerry Cannon for the work ‘Dog and Bone’, Mosman artist Chilu took out the Open Section for her work ‘The Warmth of the Sun, while Inverell Shire Council’s acquisition this year was a piece called Maisie by Marissa Veerman from Canley Heights.
Inverell artist Deborah Schwark claimed the Local Section award, Miniature section went to Bateau Bay’s Evelyn Owens, Inverell’s Debbie Doye took out the Ceramics Section, the Creative and Textiles & Fibre section went to Julie Michel and Sadie Lin Walker was awarded the Young Artist accolade.
The Inverell Art Prize 2024 exhibition runs until the 12th of November
