A fielding mishap has prematurely ended the tournament of Inverell junior cricketer Georgie Lennord who was representing for the Northern Stars at the Under 19s Female Country Championships in Woolgoolga.
Georgie was attempting to take a catch when a teammate crashed into her leaving her concussed and with a fractured eye socket.
Her father Scott says she’s a little sore and swollen after leaving hospital last night adding she will require surgery to repair her eye socket.
He says she’ll be away from the pitch for a while and is unsure when she’ll get back on the paddock.
The Northern Stars had registered 1 win from their four outings over the weekend with the tournament used to select players for the Australian Country Championships in South Australia next year.
