The Rale Rasic Mini World Cup will kick off this morning at the Inverell Sports Complex bringing visitors from all parts of the country to Inverell.
This year’s tournament will feature 65 teams from the likes of Rockhampton, Adelaide, Newcastle, Toowoomba and Germany, the event will also host talented teams from across the New England-North West, with accommodation providers in Inverell bursting at the seams.
Along with Bundesliga coach Jens Kiefer, special guest for the tournament will be Deborah Rasic, the widow of Australian football icon and World Cup Socceroos coach, Rale Rasic.
Tournament founder Heinrich Haussler says not only will the town have hundreds of players and their families in Inverell this week, they’ll also see the Grand Finals of the Northern Inland Premier League at the venue tomorrow.
He says they’re hoping to grow the female participation in the Mini World Cup
The Joey’s Mini World Cup kicks off today (Friday 27th October) and runs until Monday (30 October) Lunchtime.
