RAM Recall

by | Sep 9, 2024 | Transport | 0 comments

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development have issued a vehicle recall for owners of Ram Trucks built between 2023 and 2024.

The 1500 DT Model of Ram Trucks has 166 affected units that have been given the recall notice due to a manufacturing defect of the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) which may have not been welded to the required specifications.

As a result, the Module could fail to send an airbag deployment signal to the Occupant Restraint Controller preventing the driver’s airbag from deploying, which could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their nearest authorised RAM dealer on 1300 681 655 to have the SCCM inspected and replaced, free of charge, with owners also being contacted in writing by RAM Australia.
