Tingha Tigers finals aspirations are still alive while the Inverell Hawks hopes have been dashed following weekend results in the Group 19 Rugby League competition.
Tingha Tigers thumped the Walcha Roos 52-26 and will now focus on their home match this weekend against the Armidale Rams.
Meantime the Inverell Hawks had to play catch up football in the second half succumbing to the Armidale Rams 56-28 and ending their finals hopes
Hawks President Ethan Anderson says the team started slow and trailed 34-nil at halftime adding they did hit back in the 2nd half but the damage had already been done.
In the other Round 16 match, Bingara’s finals hopes are hanging by a thread after going down 32-18 to reigning premiers Narwan Eels, making it four losses in a row.
Winners in Ladies League Tag were Narwan, Tingha, Inverell and Glen Innes while two U18s matches played saw Glen Innes and Narwan score wins.
