A current Inverell Shire councillor has confirmed she won’t be standing at Septembers Local government elections.
Experienced councillors Di Baker will close the door on her local government career this year and will not contest the election and joins Cr Nicky Lavender who resigned her position on Council earlier this year
Mrs Baker, who was first elected to Inverell shire Council in 1999 and has devoted 25 years of her life serving the local community, says personal reasons have forced her decision and thanked the community for their support over the years.
Inverell Shire Mayor Paul Harmon, Deputy Mayor Kate Dight, and current councillors Jacko Ross, Jo Williams, Wendy Wilks and Paul King have all confirmed their intentions to contest the election while Cr Stewart Berryman remains undecided.
