Farmers and land managers in the Northern Tablelands can now access new, independent guidance and support to incorporate opportunities in natural capital management and market opportunities into their farm business.

Rachel Lawrence has been appointed by Local Land Services as the Natural Capital Advisor for the Northern Tablelands region and is dedicated to helping farmers identify ways to best manage and potentially enhance their natural capital, including helping people to understand the benefits and potential risks of participating in emerging environmental markets. 

Ms Lawrence brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in managing farm landscapes for both sustainable agricultural outcomes alongside the protection and enhancement of ecological assets on a farm and is looking forward to sharing her experience with the local farming community, as well as learning from them.

She says she’s excited about this opportunity to support farmers in finding a balance between production and environmental outcomes, both of which are an important part of managing a successful, sustainable and potentially regenerative farm business
