Tamworth is set to become the start and finish point for one of Australia’s most loved charity adventures when more than 80 riders on postie bikes descend on the region for the 2026 Variety Postie Bike Dash.
The six-day adventure, running from 1 – 6 November, will see riders tackle more than 1300km of back roads, mountain ranges and country lanes across northern NSW, while aiming to raise $375,000 for children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.
Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT CEO, Tony Warner, said Tamworth was the perfect home base for the 2026 Dash.
“There’s something pretty special about starting and finishing an event like this in Tamworth,” he said.
“The Postie Bike Dash is about mateship, adventure, and making a difference to children who need a helping hand – especially out here in regional NSW.”
“Our long-standing sponsor, Tamex Transport, was founded here so it’s great to be able to bring the event ‘home’ and showcase our shared commitment to giving back to the communities that support us.”
The Dash will depart Tamworth on Sunday 1 November with riders heading through Bundarra and Glen Innes, before travelling via Dalmorton, Yamba, Lismore, Tabulam, Tenterfield, Ashford and Inverell, before returning to Tamworth on Friday 6 November.
Along the way, almost $20,0000 in grants will be delivered to Glen Innes, Caniaba, Gulmarrad and Gilgai Public Schools as part of Variety’s ongoing support for remote and regional schools.
Mr Warner said the event will also inject more than $200,000 directly into regional tourism with six days of spending in local businesses.
“Our riders are eating in local cafes, staying in local accommodation, filling up their bikes and stopping to explore towns along the way,” he said.
“The Postie Bike Dash is about making a difference to kids, but it’s also about getting people out into regional NSW and supporting the communities we visit.”
Funds raised directly support Variety’s vital, year-round work empowering children to live life without limits through grants, programs, scholarships and inclusive experiences.
