The Sapphire City Motorsports Club have dished out almost $20,000 to several local organisations following their cheque distribution ceremony on Sunday at Inverell Sporties.
Pioneer Village was granted $3500, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service and the Inverell VRA Squad received $3000 each while Team Inverell’s Scrapheap Adventure Ride, the Inverell Prostate Cancer and Breast Cancer Support Groups each received $2000 while Meals on Wheels Inverell and Inverell community radio STA FM welcomed $1500.
Dwayne O’Brien from the Sapphire City Motorsports club says $19,500 was donated back into the community.
The money was raised from gate takings from their Motormania event earlier this year and club membership.
