Team Inverell has returned from the Scrapheap Adventure Run a little tired but grateful to the community response to their fundraising efforts for Down Syndrome Australia.
The team took the long journey to Baradine for this year’s event over the October long weekend
Team member Brendan Campbell says they were able to raise a massive $18,710, helping them claim the trophy for the highest fundraising total with the overall event raising over $106 thousand to date.
Mr Campbell says this result would not have been possible without the support of the community, supporters and sponsors.
Team Inverell’s long serving members Mick O’Brien, Col Meacham and Phil Kimber also received their 15-year award during the long weekend event.
