Residents are bring reminded to secure their vehicles after unknown offenders managed to rummaged through several vehicles on Sunday evening
Just before 6:30, three unlocked vehicles outside a residential address in Greaves St were broken into with a handbag and a small amount of cash stolen while later in the evening an unlocked vehicle parked at a residential address in Brownleigh Vale Dve was rummaged through with CCTV detecting a person trespassing on the property.
In other police news, Inverell Police stopped a vehicle on Glen Innes Rd on Friday night and subjected a 23-year-old driver to a Random Breathe Test which returned a positive reading.
The driver was arrested and submitted to a secondary test which returned a low range reading.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 3 months and issued an infringement for driving with low range PCA.
Shortly after another driver was stopped by police on the Gwydir Hwy with checks revealing the 19-year-old driver’s licence was suspended.
He will appear before Inverell Local court at a later date
