A meeting with the Aged Care Ministry and Inverell Shire Council has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to fully fund the McLean Care facility until a new provider is found.
Inverell Shire Mayor Kate Dight says the facility is currently in a period of transition and is currently being managed by interim CEO Jill Davidson who she says is doing a tremendous job ensuring McLean Care becomes financial again.
Mayor Dight says whilst the organisation is in transition to find a new provider, the federal government will underwrite them adding the government has a pool of money ready to support aged care facilities like McLean Care.
She says there hasn’t been further developments in relation to a new provider but remains in constant contact with Ms Davidson who believes there may be some promising news towards the end of the year
