The NSW Rural Fire service has updated its online portal to remove the previous 21-day limit on Burn Notifications submitted outside the Bush Fire Danger Period.
Landholders and occupiers can now submit a Burn Notification for any length of time during non- Bush Fire Danger Periods, without having to renew every 21 days.
The Service says the change was introduced to assist landowners and occupiers in reduce unnecessary administrative burden associated with renewing Burn Notifications every 21 outside the Bush Fire Danger Periods.
It’s advised residents will still need to notify their neighbours at least 24 hours prior to lighting up.
