Inverell’s Multicultural Festival will revert back to Victoria Park next year for the finish of the 2027 Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic after this year’s festival significantly reduced numbers at the finish line of the main Grafton to Inverell race.
This year, the event was held at the Lake Inverell Off-Road Circuit in conjunction with the ProVelo Super League women’s and men’s criterion races, with approximately 500 people attending, deeming the event a success.
Council’s post evaluation of the event noted that due to a drop in vendors caused by family commitments and other scheduled events and the change in timing of the criteriums, the majority of Multicultural Festival attendees did not stay until the conclusion of the races.
Planning for next year’s Multicultural Festival has already begun, with vendors already expressing their interest with hopes it will showcase the Nepalese, Fijian and Brazilian cultures at Victoria Park at the finish of the 2027 Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic.
