Emma Rossi is a respected media professional, keynote speaker, and passionate advocate for womenโs rights whose career spans journalism, government communications, and community leadership. For nearly two decades, Emma was a familiar face on national television, reporting for news and current affairs, serving as a foreign correspondent, and presenting stories that reached audiences across Australia and around the world. Her ability to inform and connect with viewers cemented her reputation as a trusted voice in Australian media.
Following her distinguished media career, Emma transitioned into a role that reflects her deep commitment to humanity and storytelling. As Biography Services Manager at St Vincentโs Hospital in Sydney, she leads a program that provides free life stories for people at the end of life, ensuring their experiences and legacies are honoured. Emma is also a qualified pastoral carer, supporting patients with emotional and spiritual care during their most vulnerable moments.
Emmaโs professional journey includes more than a decade in media and communications for the Federal Government, where she championed public safety and was the national face for childrenโs e-safety and security. Her leadership extends beyond the workplace into powerful advocacy and philanthropy. A tireless campaigner for womenโs rights, Emma once cycled across Cambodia with her daughter to help buy women and girls out of sex slavery. She played a pivotal role in establishing Maryโs House, a domestic violence refuge in Sydney, and continues to drive initiatives that improve safety for women fleeing violence.
Her commitment to community health is equally strong. As a founding board director and current Ambassador for Active Farmers, Emma supports programs that enhance physical and mental wellbeing in rural Australia. She has been an Australia Day Ambassador since 2013, proudly representing values of unity, resilience, and compassion.
Emmaโs story is one of courage, empathy, and purpose. As an Australia Day Ambassador, she invites communities to reflect, respect, and celebrate the diverse experiences that shape our nation. For Emma, being Australian means standing up for equality, fostering connection, and creating a future where every voice matters.
