NSW Government’s EnergyCo has released its Regional Major Infrastructure Studies for the New England Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).
These studies provide an evidence base to guide conversations about how REZ development can support regional growth, services, and local industry, including opportunities and challenges that matter directly to our region.
The five studies cover:
Water and wastewater security
Local supply chain development
Waste management and the circular economy
Training and skills pathways
Workforce accommodation
EnergyCo is now inviting community and stakeholder feedback to help shape benefits, initiatives, and infrastructure planning across the New England REZ.
Glen Innes Severn Council encourages local residents, businesses, and organisations to take part, ensuring local perspectives are heard in shaping the regionโs future.
You can view the studies and complete the community survey via EnergyCoโs engagement portal: https://caportal.com.au/energyco/new-england-rez/…
The survey is open until Friday, 20 February 2026.
For any survey issues, please contact the SEC Newgate team on 1800 412 878.
