Migrant Jubilee Cross Visits Inverell

by | Dec 2, 2025 | Community | 0 comments

The Migrant Jubilee Cross will visit Inverell this week – a significant initiative in Australia which celebrates the contributions of migrant communities and symbolizes their journey of faith and resilience.

The cross, which is made from Australian timber and a piece of a pew from the Armidale Catholic Cathedral, will be visiting Sacred Heart catholic church from mid-morning tomorrow until Thursday for parishioners to visit and pray before holy relics.

The relics contain fragments of The Holy Crib of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the veil of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the cloak of St. Joesph, and a piece of the cedar coffin of Australia’s first saint, Mary MacKillop.

The church will be open tomorrow until 6pm and open from 7am on Thursday before it leaves Inverell.
