Community College Northern Inland (CCNI) is proud to announce that Inverell student, Steffi-Lee Frankland, has been named the first recipient of the Adult Learners’ Week (ALW) STAR Award, during the official launch of Adult Learners’ Week 2025 livestreamed from Devonport, Tasmania on September 1.
The STAR Award (Student Teaching and Relationship) recognises an outstanding adult learner who demonstrates exceptional commitment to mentoring fellow students. The Award was introduced this year to celebrate ALW’s 30th anniversary.
Steffi-Lee is currently studying the Certificate III in Individual Support. Her prior industry experience allows her to share valuable knowledge and assist peers with manual handling and clinical skills training. Steffi-Lee was nominated for the STAR Award by staff for her encouragement, kindness, and ability to support fellow students through challenges in their learning journey.
“Steffi-Lee is an inspiration to others,” said Campus Coordinator, Tania Archer. “Her commitment to her own learning is remarkable, but her generosity in helping others succeed truly sets her apart. We congratulate Steffi-Lee on this well-deserved recognition.”
The ALW 2025 launch event marked the beginning of a national celebration of the power of lifelong learning that runs from 1-8 September each year. A wide range of events and activities take place across Australia during the week to celebrate and promote adult learning.
