A Tingha resident has been acknowledged by NSW Attorney General Michael Daley for his 55 years of service as a Justice of the Peace.
In an item in the Northern Daley leader, John Walker received a certificate of commemoration to recognise over half century which he will celebrate in August.
After taking the J.P mantle from his parents in the 70’s, Mr Walker says he’s honoured and proud to have served his community over the years.
Despite not being able to attend his ceremony at parliament House, he was able to live steam the event at Inverell TAFE where his daughter works.
Justices of the peace are volunteers appointed by the NSW Governor and are called on as witnesses to make a statutory declaration or affidavits, as well as to certify copies of original documents.
