Youth to Create NAIDOC Themed Art for CBD

by | May 6, 2025 | Arts & Culture, Media Release | 0 comments

Young artists aged 12 to 24 are invited to contribute to a high-impact public art project celebrating NAIDOC Week 2025, with their work featured on street flags displayed across the Inverell CBD.

Led by Ladybug Projects and Inverell NAIDOC Committee, the NSW Government funded initiative is calling on artists aged 12 – 24 to create artwork for this year’s NAIDOC theme: “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy.”

Original artworks can be submitted by individuals, groups, or school classes, giving young people the chance to create a work of art to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, identity, and community pride.

Selected designs will be professionally printed and exhibited on street flags throughout the Inverell CBD during NAIDOC Week, 6–13 July 2025—creating a vibrant display of youth artworks in the town’s centre.

“This is an opportunity for youth to lead the way in cultural celebration and also bring public art into the main street of Inverell,” said Christy Galbraith, Project Manager at Ladybug Projects.

“We’re proud to partner with the Inverell NAIDOC Committee to bring this project to life.”

Key Information:
