Group 19 Rugby League have confirmed that three teams have entered women’s tackle teams to participate in a hybrid competition for the remainder of the season.
Warialda Wombats, Moree Boomerangs and Uralla Tigers RLFC will play throughout the season with the additional Women’s tackle fixture added to their scheduled home games.
The Group says this initiative is a positive step forward in introducing and developing women’s tackle rugby league within the competition adding providing opportunities for female players to participate locally, promotes the growth of the women’s game, and helps build a strong foundation for the future of women’s rugby league across the Group 19 competition and the future development of the game overall.
In the first game played on Sunday, Warialda played against the Moree Boomerangs and recorded a 58-6 win
