A woman accused of a spate of larceny and shoplifting charges spanning across the New England has been sentenced to serve jail time.
Mona Ann French appeared by audio-visual link on Monday before Magistrate Mark Richardson, who sentenced French to 10 months imprisonment for a series of thefts and order breaches.
The Northern Daily Leader reports a number of the offences also breached existing community corrections orders, which attracted further one month custodial sentences totalling 43 months, however Magistrate Richardson reached a final sentence of a 20-month custodial sentence, but said special circumstances mitigated the sentence.
Magistrate Richardson awarded a 50 per cent reduction resulting in a 10-month custodial sentence, which, with time served, French will be eligible for parole in September next year.
