The Bureau of Meteorology advises snow is forecast to fall to low elevations across the ranges outside of the Alpine peaks over the coming days as a cold air-mass persists across the state.
Across the northern ranges a dusting of snow is possible above 1000m, mainly tomorrow and Wednesday around Walcha, Barrington Tops and Guyra.
NSW SES New England warn motorists to be safe on local roads, especially at night and during the early hours of the morning, where black ice on roads may make driving conditions dangerous.
Meantime, a Sheep Graziers warning is current for parts of the Northern Tablelands and Northwest Slopes and Plains with cold temperatures, rain and showers and westerly winds expected today and tomorrow.
There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
