A UK immigrant who came to Inverell intending to stay only two years has been named Inverell Shire Citizen of the Year.
Radiologist at Inverell Diagnotic Imaging, Alistair Williams was named this year’s Citizen of the Year from a field of five nominees including Alison Lane, Terri smith, Leesey Salvatore and Robyn Kenny.
Mr Williams was a founding member of Inverell Junior Rugby Club and volunteered his time with the Inverell Parkrun, Inverell Show Society, Inverell RSM Civilian Rifle Club as well as being part of Inverell East Rotary where he was bestowed the prestigious Paul Harris fellow award in 2015.
Mr Williams says he’s honored to receive the accolade saying he was completely surprised saying his story is unique.
