Good rainfall has been received across the district after a series of weather systems crossed the region.

The Bureau of Meteorology has recorded 45mm at Inverell, 22mm at Nullamanna, Elsmore 14mm, Bukkulla and Warialda 20mm, Bundarra and Tingha 18mm Kings Plains 16mm, Bingara 23mm, and Glen Innes 12mm for the past 24 hours.

Climatologist Nadine D’Argent told the Inverell Times that July to September rainfall would probably be above average for the Northern Tablelands.

She says the subtropical ridge has remained firmly in the south, which has brought generally dry and settled weather conditions in recent months before this latest rain event.
