An update has been provided on the investigation to elevated levels of PFAS in Warialda’s Water Supply.
Gwydir Shire Council (GSC), with the support of NSW Health, will receive the test results from the bores mid-next week, with bottled water still available for residents from IGA and the Tourist Information Centre until the results are received.
As advised earlier, Warialda’s water is still safe to wash, swim and perform household tasks, with NSW Health advising the level of PFAS in the water supply is unlikely to cause any adverse effects if consumed.
Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan is in constant contact with Gwydir Shire Mayor Tiffany Galvin, General Manager Max Eastcott and NSW Health.
Mr Moylan will continue to provide updates where possible.
Residents of Warialda are encouraged to keep an eye on the GSC website and Facebook page for updates.
