Uralla Comes Out On Top in the Battle of the Tigers

by | Apr 20, 2026 | Sport

Uralla Tigers came away with a gallant 28-18 win over the Tingha Tigers at Bob Ward Oval yesterday in Round 2 action in the Group 19 Rugby League competition.

Despite late changes to the side, Uralla showed resilience to overcome the disruption and get the job done with Sam Press, Liam Whitehill and Cormack Hume leading the way.

In the other games played over the weekend, the Glen Innes Magpies dominated Guyra at Meade Park with a 52-24 victory while the game between Barraba Bulldogs and the Moree Boomerangs was called off in the 18th minute of the first half after a Moree player sustained an injury which resulted in Moree not having enough players to continue the game with Barraba awarded the match, winning 10-nil.

In Reserve grade, Uralla defeated Tingha 36-6 while in Ladies League tag, Barraba scored an 8-4 win over Moree and Glen Innes had a big 60-0 win over Guyra.
