The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission have issued a recall for a particular type of compact utility tractor.
The John Deere 1023E, 1025R and 2025R compact utility tractors have been recalled due to the front bellcrank in the brake system failing which can cause the brakes to fail.
There is a risk of death or serious injury to the use or bystanders if brakes fail while in use, with reports of incidents already occurring overseas which have resulted in serious injury.
Owners of these types of tractors are advised to stop using them immediately and visit the John Deere website to check the product identification or serial number to see if their tractor is recalled.
John Deere will contact consumers to advise of repair availability, however consumers can contact John Deere for information about their repair schedule by calling 1800 800 981.
