The Tingha Tigers have missed an opportunity to secure a top 2 spot on the Group 19 Rugby League points table after registering their 4th draw this season and their second against the Warialda Wombats after they tied their game 34-all on Saturday.
The Tigers, missing 7 a graders, led for most of the match but had to withstand a late Wombat comeback with the game being called off late in the match with Tingha on the attack, 10 out from their line.
Meantime the Inverell Hawks have taken a stranglehold on the minor premierships after their 66-18 win over the Narwan Eels in Armidale.
Despite the big win, Hawks coach Jamie McCormack wasn’t happy with his teams’ first half, labelling poor, before turning things around in the 2nd half.
In other round 12 results, Guyra Super spuds proved too good for Moree Boomerangs winning 38-24 while Uralla Tigers took the points over Glen Innes magpies 34-10.
There was a huge upset in Ladies League tag with Warialda thumping Tingha 32-4, Narwan and Inverell had a 10-all draw, Moree Boomerangs defeated Guyra 28-4 while Glen Innes had a big win over Uralla 60-0.
