Several stock have been killed following an accident on Alan Cunningham Road at Gineroi, between Bingara and Warialda on Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 4pm, the driver of a QLD heavy vehicle towing an attached livestock trailer with sheep failed to navigate a slight bend near the Grove Rd and as a result the vehicle and trailer have rolled on to its side and travelled for approximately 100-150 meters.
Several livestock escaped unharmed and were mustered to a nearby paddock while approximately 50 lambs were either immediately killed from the impact or seriously injured or trapped within the trailer and required euthanasia at the scene.
Emergency Services attended a short time later and assessed the driver and passenger who were both treated at the scene for minor injuries and conveyed to Bingara District Hospital for further assessment.
Rural Fire Service and Bingara Fire and Rescue attended to clear debris and diesel from the roadway which was closed for some time.
