Staggy Creek have won back-to-back titles in the Inverell Cricket Competition following Saturday’s washed-out Grand Final against Campbell and Freebairn Rebels at Varley Oval on Saturday.
In steamy conditions, Rebels batted first on a lively wicket and were reeling at 2/5 with dominant batsmen Dave Mudalair dismissed early.
The match was stopped with Rebels struggling at 5/53 in the 23rd over when a thunderstorm lashed the oval and officials then making the tough decision to abandon the game.
