Staggy Creek have scrapped through in a nailbiter against Campbell & Freebairn Rebels to win by 1 wicket at Varley Oval in Round 8 results in the Inverell Cricket competition.
Despite another century from Dave Mudaliar with 116 in Rebels 4/222, Staggy managed to get over the line after being at one stage 6/102 before youngsters Will Marshall and Noah Brabrant guided their team to victory.
Rebels bowled 51 wides and no-balls which didn’t help their cause.
In the other game, Square and Compass had a comfortable 77 run victory over Delungra at McCosker 2.
Sent into bat, Square and Compass amassed 217 with Liam Spalding holding the innings together with an unbeaten 70 and in reply, Delungra never threatened the target, finishing on 9/140 off their 40 overs with Monty Ehsman scoring an unconquered 58.
Pick of the Square & Compass bowlers were Ryan Campbell with 3/9 and Preston Lennord with 3/22.
