A superb all-round performance from Nick Cumming has led Staggy Creek to inflict Square and Compass first loss of the Inverell cricket season at Varley Oval on Saturday.
Cummin smashed 80 runs in his teams’ total of 5/247 and then claimed 4/29 to assist in dismissing Square and Compass for 205.
Ryan Campbell with 53 and Alex Smith with 48 batted well for Square and Compass but it wasn’t enough.
In the other Round 4 clash, Campbell and Freebairn demolished an under-strength Delungra outfit at McCosker 2.
Nathan Marsh chimed in with 4/12 as the Revels dismissed Delungra for 59 and in reply Blake Ubergang with an undefeated 27 made light work of the run chase, reaching the target in the 4th over.
