St Carlo Acutis Relics Arrive in Inverell

by | Jun 25, 2026 | Arts & Culture, Community

Sacred relics that have toured the world will arrive in Inverell tomorrow and be on display at Holy Trinity School tomorrow and Sacred Heart Catholic Church over the weekend.

Saint Carlo Acutis was an English-born Italian Catholic teenager and computer programmer renowned for his deep devotion to the Eucharist and for using technology to evangelize.

Known as “God’s Influencer” and the “patron saint of the Internet,” he created a global website on Eucharistic miracles before dying of leukemia in 2006 at age 15 and was canonized by Pope Leo in 2025, becoming the Church’s first millennial saint.

His relics, which includes hair, clothing, a piece of his wooden bed, and notably a piece of his pericardium, the membrane surrounding the heart, will be in Inverell until Sunday morning.
