The State Emergency Service has issued a warning to residents and campers to be wary of large trees which may fall following the recent wet weather.
SES Commander with MacIntyre Region Peter O’Brien says the root system of some large trees aren’t coping with the amount of moisture in the ground at the moment adding it won’t take too much to blow them down.
Commander O’Brien says they were called out to several incidents over the weekend where trees and branches had come down over roads.
He warned residents with large trees on their properties and campers setting up camp that the current situation involving large trees is quite dangerous.
