The Inverell Pioneer Village is one of the big winners after being awarded almost $30,000 under Round 2 2024 of the Sapphire Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund.
Secretary of the Inverell Pioneer Village Committee Les Moulds says the $29,890.66 will go towards the preservation of the George Devine Collection which he claims is an irreplaceable treasure trove of historical photographs, memorabilia and equipment dating back to the 1800s.
Inverell Pioneer Village was one of 10 organisations to share in over $107,000 from the Sapphire Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund.
Other organisations to benefit include the Northwest Mower Racing Association Incorporated receiving $16,500 to replace Grandstands, $13,715 to Inverell Rugby Club to install single point metering and new sub mains, and $10,000 for an all weather golf range at the Inverell Golf club.
Inverell Poultry Club, BCI Gymnastics, Friendly faces Helping Hands Foundation, Tingha Recreation Reserve Land Manager, Best Community Services and The Inverell Singers Inc also received funding from the Benefit fund.
