The Sapphire City Festival continues this week with the celebrations gearing up for one of its biggest finales to date this weekend.
On Saturday morning the festival will feature the Down to Earth Inverell Garden Group Open Gardens, which will have 5 gardens open to the public in Brae St and adjoining streets to raise money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, with the gardens offering patrons an opportunity to purchase plants, garden ornaments and pottery with refreshments available as well as a florist. There will also be a live performance by the Sapphire City Concert Band.
The festival will then conclude with a Finale concert to be held at Campbell Park from 2.30pm, which will feature performances once again by the concert band as well as Alana Wilkinson and country music star and former Inverell Local Melanie Dyer.
The Finale will conclude with a Fireworks display, with event organisers and Inverell Shire Council advising motorists that the Warialda Rd bridge will be closed between the hours of 8pm to 10pm.
