A Gold Logie winner will be making an appearance in Inverell at the end of the month to speak about ways businesses and individuals can work together towards the fight against cancer.
Samuel Johnson, 2017 Gold Logie winner known for his roles in Secret Life of Us and his portrayal of Molly Meldrum in the TV movie “Molly” as well as the founder of organisation ‘Love Your Sister’, will be coming to Inverell as well as Tamworth and Glen Innes to advocate an affirmative action in introducing Precision Medicine for all cancer patients.
According to Mr Johnson, who lost his sister to cancer in 2017, Precision Medicine puts patients on the right medicine, first time, every time, however due to bureaucracy and red tape, the initiative is being held back, affecting cancer patients that could benefit from effective treatment.
He believes that together with both businesses and individuals, scientists would have the resources necessary to combat the illness faster and more effectively.
Samuel Johnson will be making an appearance in Inverell with thanks to the Country Women’s Association at the Uniting Church Hall on Rivers St, Sunday September 29th from 10am.
