Inverell Shire Council will make a $1000 donation to support the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal
Council recently received correspondence from former mayor Mal Peters requesting council consider making a donation to this year’s Red Shield appeal which culminated last month.
It follows the Inverell Salvation Army calling on the community to support the annual drive which raises money to support people struggling most in the region.
Inverell Shire Mayor Kate Dight says the local Salvos branch do a remarkable job supporting the community with councillors unanimously voting to support the funding at last week’s Council meeting.
