Inverell Saints will have two teams fight out Grand Finals this weekend after their Women’s team qualified for the big dance following their 56 point win over the Tamworth Swans at No1 Oval on Saturday.
The Saints dominated from the outset with captain Claire McCosker booting six goals in their 11.12.78 to 3.4.22 victory.
Saints Women’s Coach Dallas Baldwin believes his team is starting to peak at the right end of the season and is looking forward to Saturday Grand Final match up against the Gunnedah Poochettes – the third successive meeting between the two sides in a AFL Northwest Grand Final.
The Saints men will meet the Tamworth Swans in the Grand Final at Varley Oval this Saturday after the Swans ran away with a 15.10.100 to 8.5.53 win over the Gunnedah Bulldogs.
Meantime the Saints Under 14’s fought valiantly but couldn’t win their third successive premiership, going down to the combined Tamworth Gunnedah Roosters outfit 9.7.61 to 4.3.27.
