The Inverell Saints Women’s team head to Tamworth tomorrow to tackle the Tamworth Swans in the AFL Northwest Preliminary Final at No1 Oval with the winner to advance to next weekends Grand Final against the Gunnedah Poochettes.
The Saints were sluggish last weekend against the Poochettes but Coach Chris Pay cited the lack of match fitness as the reason for the disappointing result.
Pay says his side will be looking to put on a good performance against the Swans and book a spot in the Grand Final in Inverell next week in their attempt for a hattrick of premierships.
Meantime, in the all Tamworth Men’s preliminary final, the Swans back up against the Kangaroos after their heart-breaking major semi loss to Inverell and are keen to knock over the cross-town rival in their bid to win back-to-back premierships.
