The Inverell Saints have got back on the winners list with a hard fought 36-point win over the New England Nomads at Bellevue Oval on Saturday in Round 5 action in the AFL Northwest competition.
Six goals from spearhead Angus Croft and 4 majors to captain Ryan Lewis led the way for the Saints in their 15.14.104 to 10.8.68 victory.
Coach Hayden Chappel was relieved to get the win which he hopes will build confidence in the young group.
Meantime the Saints Women, Katrina Doak had the ball on a string, booting 11 goals under lights in the Saints massive 26.18.174 to 1.2.8 mauling of the Nomads.
In Gunnedah, the Bulldogs held on to beat the Tamworth Kangaroos 10.8.68 to 9.6.60 while the Poochettes were too good for the Roos winning 9.7.61 to 3.4.22
