Saints Hunt Home Grand Final

by | Aug 5, 2024 | Sport | 0 comments

The Inverell Saints Men’s team have one hand on the minor premierships and a possible home ground grand final after thumping the Gunnedah Bulldogs by 138 points at Varley Oval on Saturday in Round 10 action in the AFL Northwest competition.

The Saints were never threatened as they ran riot to score a 23.19.157 to 3.1.19 victory.

Saints Coach Matt Harrison says it was a solid victory but acknowledged the scoreline didn’t reflect the true competitiveness of the game.

Meanwhile the Saints Women went agonisingly close to upsetting the undefeated Poochettes, going down by 6 points.

The Saints got off to a good start but failed to hold off the reigning premier to go down 8.5.53 to 7.5.47.

In the other games at Tamworth’s No 1 Oval, the Swans crushed the Kangaroos 25.9.159 to 8.6.54 while the Swans got the victory over the Kangaroos winning 4.10.34 to 3.3.21
