Inverell Saints have accounted for the Tamworth Kangaroos in a scrappy match at Varley Oval in Round 14 of the AFL Northwest competition, played on Saturday.
The Saints were very clunky for the most part of their 15.9.99 to 6.9.45 victory with Coach Matthew Harrison saying his team would need to improve vastly if they’re going to be competitive in the finals.
In the other game, the Tamworth Swans sent a warning to the competition after they belted the New England Nomads 25.22.172 to 0.2.2
Meantime the Saints Women were also slow to start before they hit their straps to overpower the Roos women 15.10.100 to 1.1.7 with Katrina Doak booting 6 goals.
Coach Georgia Chappel was delighted how her team were able to find form after a couple of weeks off.
The Swans won on forfeit from the Nomads in the Women’s game
