Inverell Saints have again registered a confidence building 36-point win over out reigning premiers the Tamworth Swans at Varley Oval on Saturday in Round 6 results in the AFL Northwest competition.
A dominant midfield performance by Blake Newman and 4 goals to spearhead Angus Croft guided the Saints to a 15.19.109 to 11.7.73 win.
Saints Coach Hayden Chappel says he’s extremely happy with the performances of the experienced players who are leading the way and guiding the younger players Locky McLennan, Nick Hilton, Jayden O’Brien and Hayden Peters.
Meantime the Saints women continued their impressive form by totally decimating the Swan by 95 points.
After booting 11 goals last week, Katrina Doak kicked a further 7 goals in the Saints 15.14.104 to 1.3.9 victory.
In the other game in Tamworth, the Kangaroos had a 76 point win in the men’s game over the New England Nomads while the Nomads women forfeited their game against the Roos.
