The Inverell Saints have the chance to host this year’s AFL Northwest Grand Finals in a fortnight if their Women’s team can overcome their arch-rival the Gunnedah Poochettes at Varley Oval tomorrow.
The Saints and Poochettes face off in yet another major semi final with this year’s competition following the Women’s comp to determine the finals series.
The Saints won the minor premiership and in doing so have hosting rights for the major semi with the winner to host the Grand Final.
The Men, who also won the minor premiership, face the Tamworth Swans in what’s expected to be a physical affair.
The Saints are coming off a 19-point victory over the Swans last week in Tamworth and will be confident of a good outing and keeping their hopes of a hattrick of premierships alive.
The minor semi final is between the Tamworth Kangaroos and the New England Nomads with the loser to be eliminated from the finals race.
