Former Australian cricketer known for his comedic alter ego Mahatma Coat has arrived Inverell overnight to be the special guest at the Inverell Highlanders Sponsors Night and Season Launch tomorrow night at the RSM Club.
Greg Ritchie, who played 30 Tests and 44 One day international matches for Australia, will be the guest speaker for the Highlanders big night to kick start their season after flying in last night to avoid Cyclone Alfred and missing out on the launch night.
President Justin Oakenfull says after last year’s success with another cricketer Kerry O’Keefe, the Club decided to keep with the cricket theme and invite Mr Ritchie for the event.
Mr Oakenfull says he hopes the night will kick off a big year for the Highlanders adding pre-season training numbers have been strong as well as the confirmation of a women’s team to compete this year
Tickets are now available through TryBooking with links available on the Highlanders Facebook page
