The NSW Rural Fire Service is expected to carry out a hazard reduction burn along the edge of Elcombe Road in the Bangheet area near Bingara in the Gwydir Shire Tuesday after being postponed Monday.
The burn consists of prescribed burning of vegetation to reduce the bush fire fuel and assist in reducing the intensity and adverse impact of bush fires in extreme weather conditions.
Today’s burn will be undertaken by the Rural Fire Service and subject to weather conditions and all attempts will be taken to minimise the impact of smoke to Elcombe Road.
Should weather conditions become unfavourable Tuesday, the hazard reduction burn will be postponed until conditions become suitable.
