Rain on the Way for region

by | May 26, 2026 | Weather

A dynamic weather pattern will cause rain and thunderstorms over large areas of Australia this week, with heavy falls and flooding possible in New South Wales.

Weatherzone Meteorologist Ben Domensino says this weather pattern will be driven by a series of slow-moving upper-level troughs and low-pressure systems that will cause the atmosphere to become unstable, creating an ideal environment for the development of wet, stormy and windy weather.

He says the bulk of the rain is expected to contract towards eastern Australia on Thursday and Friday, before further showers spread over southeastern Australia over the weekend.

Heavy rain and showers are forecast tomorrow and Thursday for Inverell with a 90% chance of 10-20mm forecast both days.
